Jewish Cultural Heritage in Budapest Jewish Cultural Heritage in Budapest

Budapest has the biggest Jewish community in Middle - Eastern Europe, with an active religious, artistic and historical heritage. Through centuries the Hungarian and Jewish history has been so entwined that it is almost inseparable. Jews played and play an important role in the country’s economical, cultural and political life. Our company was created in 1995 and since then we try to show our visitors the Hungarian and Jewish culture in our country. Our English speaking guides are well trained, and have the necessary qualification to help you understand the Jewish past and present in Hungary and in Budapest. Our tours are in one (English) language, and we try to keep the sightseeing tours with small groups of people. To customize your needs we prepared three types of heritage tours.

Organ concert in St. Stephen's Basilica - Budapest Organ concert in St. Stephen's Basilica - Budapest

The St. Stephen’s Basilica is one of the most beautiful neo-classical buildings of Budapest. This is the most important church in Hungary, one of the most significant tourist attractions and the third highest building in our country. The construction started in 1851, according to the plans of Miklós Ybl, and was completed by József Kauser in 1905. In the next 50 years the church suffered from wars, storms and earthquakes. The church was reconstructed 1983-2003.

Lunch & Cruise (14:00) - Budapest Lunch & Cruise (14:00) - Budapest

Budapest panorama was added to the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO. According to their justification, the banks of the Danube at Budapest also illustrate the various periods of the capital's history, and furthermore the city has one of the world's outstandingly beautiful urban cityscapes. The World Heritage site inscribed in 1987 stretched from the Chain Bridge (Clark Ádám Square) to the Technical University on the Buda side - an area containing the Gellért Baths, Mt. Gellért with its Freedom Monument and the Citadella, and also the building ensemble of the Buda Castle. See the Danube capital during a romantic cruise combined with a delicious lunch on one of our air-conditioned ships. We will take you on a 1,5-hour-long cruise with an excellent warm buffet-lunch, what is prepared by Hungary’s only one Gault Millau rated chef, Klöter Gregor-Grex.  After lunch you can enjoy the panorama from the open upper deck of the ship. Lunch & Cruise starts at 14.00 every day. (except 20. of August, and 1. of January)

Folklore + Dinner & Cruise - Budapest Folklore + Dinner & Cruise - Budapest

There are not many countries beside Hungary, where the art of folk-dancing is at such high artistic level. There exists even a college for studying Hungarian folk dances.  The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, the Danube Folk Ensemble and Rajkó Folk Ensemble are three of the best professional Hungarian folk ensembles with the longest tradition (formed in 1951, 1957, and 1952), which have performances all around the country and abroad.  All the three of the ensembles consist of 30 artists. Their choreographies are based on authentic dances. Some of them were collected in isolated villages and date back hundreds of years. Through the performed dances you can get a broad view of the music, dance and costume heritage of Hungary and the Hungarian inhabited areas. Every concert starts at 20.00, and consists of two parts, 40-45 minutes each, plus an intermission.
